Your first video is ready. You watch it three times and you like it.
You open your phone and see four apps: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. You think that if you upload it to all four, four times as many people will see it. You upload it everywhere.
A week later you have four accounts with few views, comments spread across four places, and no clue which one is working for you.
“One network as your home for 6 months. The others, later.”
A home first
Several social media coaches give the same advice: pick one network and stay there for about 6 months. One of them calls posting everywhere at once a trap, because in the end none of them gets proper care.
To pick your home, answer one question: where does the person who will buy from you spend their time?
- One coach sums it up by age: TikTok for the youngest, Instagram for the middle generation, Facebook for older people.
- Pick a network that shows your videos to people who do not follow you yet.
- If you are torn between two, keep the one you open every day yourself. You will understand it faster.
Not everyone agrees. A software company founder says you have to be on several networks at once. He speaks from a company. For one person starting out, one home is easier to look after.
An example
Example: you sell a gardening course to people over 50. Your buyers open Facebook every morning, so your home is Facebook. For 6 months, every video goes out there first, and you read every comment.
After those months you know which topics people like and what your audience asks. Then you add a second network, with the same videos and a text written for it.
Who posts

Each network asks for a different text: longer on one, shorter on another, with other words so people can find it. UGC Viral Studio leaves that text ready for each network.
You do the posting, from each network's own app. Some coaches say that uploading the video directly in each app works better than using programs that upload it automatically.
