Someone watched your video and commented «GARDEN». They are waiting for the list you promised. If you have nothing ready, they wait a while, get bored and leave.
What happens after the video is prepared before you post it. There are two questions: where the person goes, and what you offer them first.
Where the person goes
- To a private message: the person comments a word and you write to them with what you promised. It is the shortest road.
- To a link: you send it in that message. Saying «the link is in my profile» makes them leave the video, and many people do not.
- To a page with a single button: they leave their email or their WhatsApp in exchange for the gift, so you can write to them again.
The page repeats the video's promise in the same words. If the video talks about plants that dry out and the page talks about something else, the person does not understand why they landed there, and leaves.
From the gift to the first payment
Almost nobody pays 300 dollars the first time they see you. The people who teach selling online use a ladder, with steps that get higher:
- A gift: a list, a short guide, a video. It solves the first part of the problem.
- A small offer: something at a low price that solves the next part.
- Your main offer: the full course, service or product.
The gift solves the first part of the same problem your offer solves. That way, whoever uses it already knows what they are missing.
Watch out for two things. A gift unrelated to your offer attracts people who will never buy it. And a gift that solves everything leaves the person with no reason to pay.
One video for each step
Each step asks for its own video, with its own ending. One invites people to ask for the gift. Another speaks to those who already have it and are ready for the small offer. Another presents the main offer.
If you sell videos to businesses, the first step exists too: a few samples made for that business, before you ask for anything. You will see it in module 8.
The 300 dollars are an example, not a recommended price or a promise.
