Module 5Lesson 5.2

The script decides more than the picture: write 5, keep 1

How one video is made · Lesson 2 of 9

A man of about 50 sitting at his computer at night, chin on his hand, looking at a paused video.

You spent the whole afternoon on the face. The skin looks real, the afternoon light falls just right, the beach looks like a postcard.

You press play. She smiles and says: "This amazing product will improve your life." You watch it twice and even you scroll past it.

The words came from a brochure, and a brochure makes nobody stay.

"The format can't save a bad script."

Kristian Jennings, AI ad maker

What working scripts have

We counted, one by one, 63 real approved ads (45 in English and 18 in Spanish). Three things show up in almost all of them:

89 %show the solution
81 %promise a clear benefit
70 %prove it in the video

In short: this is it, this is what it gives you, watch. The rest may or may not be there. Almost half don't even name a problem.

The line that sounds written

When you ask an AI chat for a script and give it nothing else, it usually returns perfect, cold sentences, with words nobody says at their kitchen table.

And sometimes it invents. It writes "I've been using it for 3 months" when nobody used it. Before you approve a script, check two things:

  • Can it be said out loud? Read it out loud to someone at home. If you stumble, the sentence goes.
  • Is all of it true? Every fact comes from the real product: the price, the size, what it does. A trial or a customer that never existed stays out.

Why write 5

The first script is almost never the best. With several on the table, comparing is easy:

  1. Write 5 versions of the same topic, with different openings.
  2. Read them out loud, one after another.
  3. Keep the one that sounds like a person talking, and fix what is off.

That chosen script decides the rest: what is shown, how many shots are needed and what the video costs.

Five sheets of paper with blurred text on a wooden table, one of them circled in pencil.

How would you rather do it?

Nobody sees your answer: it is just for you.
